Got the new starter motor in, but couldn't get any juice through to the motor. To jump it, you need to get 12V to wherever the start signal wire attaches to the solenoid. It's purple on my tractor, but I am not sure about the 318. This is usually very easily done with a screw driver between the red wire and the start signal wire.

New coil from John Deere is over $120.00 so, am looking for suggestions if there is an alternative coil that can be used.

Drained gas, changed hoses and FF, pick up tubes, new battery. Turned over a couple of times then nothing. Replaced temperamental clutch switch.
